Numbers, a Sketch and a B

Hi everyone, firstly thanks for all your well wishes and I'm pleased to say Dad is being discharged from hospital tomorrow. Lately I've been blogging 2 or 3 cards at a time and I've decided to keep on with this so that I'm not posting as often..... hopefully it will also make it better for you (time-wise) as I do appreciate your continued visits.

So here goes with the first of three cards and this is my 'B' for boy, birthday and blue card which is an Elisabeth Bell image coloured with Promarkers and die-cut with a TH die.

This is for the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'I spy something beginning with B'

Crafty Purple Frog challenge 'time to celebrate the little people'

Cute Card Thursday challenge 'birthdays'

Now for the 'numbers' card using a decoupage image from the Joanna Sheen 'House Mouse Decoupage' CD with some die-cut numbers and letters and a paper that I found on the internet.

This is for the following challenges

Words 2 Craft By challenge 'N-U-M-B-E-R-M-O-U-S-E'

That's Crafty challenge 'outnumbered'

And finally my 'sketch' card which uses another of the decoupage images from the  Joanna Sheen 'House Mouse Decoupage' CD and magazine freebie papers with a LOTV stamped sentiment. I've got quite a few of these decoupage sheets that I made up a while ago so I'm trying to use them up!

This is the sketch I followed over at CD Sunday challenge

I'm off to have a search through the crafty cupboard as I've been seeing quite a few LOTV images around Blogland lately and I know I did buy some artpads but not sure where they've hidden themselves! Enjoy the rest of your week and thanks for your visit today.

Spring and a Tag

Morning everyone, hope things are going okay for you all. I feel a little frazzled today as it has definitely been one of those weeks with Hubby's back causing him a lot of pain, Dad in hospital with pneumonia and this morning some more sad news....... but we are built to plod on regardless so here are a couple of makes that I finished at the weekend but not got round to showing you.

The first is a tag using some of my NBUS goodies and heat embossing. I'm very new to heat embossing and only have a pot of white powder so I used Uniko 'stunning snowflakes' (love those snowflake designs) to stamp, heat emboss and then sponge Memento inks on a circle of card before matting onto a gold mirricard circle. Then I die-cut the Poppystamps 'country houses' and 'country houses background' and layered them up but decided I wasn't keen on the white in white so used Memento inks to add some colour and then added another white 'country houses' die-cut on the top before sticking to the tag and adding the bow.

I made this for

ABC Christmas challenge 'H is for home, I is for informal'

Poppystamps challenge 'gift it'

WOW Embossing challenge 'favourite embossing technique'

Addicted To Stamps challenge 'not a square card'

And here is an easter card using a decoupage image and papers from the Joanna Sheen 'House Mouse decoupage' cd with just the addition of some flowers and ribbon to finish.

CD Sunday challenge 'spring colours'  my 2nd entry

House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge 'stop and smell the flowers'

Noor! Design challenge 'flowers'

Thanks for popping by today and for taking the time to leave me  a few words. I'm off to have a nice quiet (I hope) and much needed cuppa tea. Take care and I'll catch up with you soon.

Colourful Birthday

Not sure if I've overdone it but these Bugaboo monsters were screaming out for a splash of colour with the Promarkers. All my papers are snippets with some careful placing under the image to hide the fact that some were a bit too small. I used a TH Stitched oval die and a Paper Smoochies die for the balloons which were all cut from snippets of card, a gold peel off sentiment and the last little bit of green ribbon from my stash.

I made this for the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Allsorts challenge 'sketch'

Double D challenge 'neons / brights'

The Ribbon Girl challenge 'use any image'

That's it from me for today. Thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the easter weekend and have lots of choccie eggs to devour.

Spring. Spring. Spring

I've been very good this year with keeping my New Years Resolution - it was to buy lots of crafty goodies! - so as you may guess I've got rather a lot of unused goodies to play with and I'm heading over to Darnell's Playhouse to join in with her fabulous NBUS / Boo Boo challenge.

My first card is a one layer CAS design on a deckled edge card blank and using NBUS Penny Black stamps 'First Waltz' and a sentiment from the 'Happy Thoughts' set.

I shall enter this in

Penny Black and More challenge 'spring'

Stamping Sensations challenge 'anything goes'

Penny Black Saturday challenge 'spring or easter'

More NBUS for another one layer CAS card - Uniko stamps 'flower power 1' and 'flower power 7' and 'background builders: round in circles'. The sentiment is also from Uniko 'pure florals Gerbera' and I added some gemstones to add sparkle.

I shall enter this in

Uniko challenge 'spring with an optional twist of easter'

Allsorts challenge 'bring on the bling'

AAA Cards challenge 'CAS shiny spring'

And finally I've got a card using up some of my old stash and an image printed from the Joanna Sheen 'House Mouse triple cd collection' The paper is from a House Mouse CD along with a LOTV snippet and the sentiment is left over from a decoupage sheet (but I can't remember which). This is my Boo Boo card as when I added the image it ended up dropping and sticking towards the top of the card and no way was it going to be lifted off without ripping the whole thing. So after a search in my stash I found the flowers that I added along the bottom and with just a few gems to finish I managed to save it.

I shall enter this in

CD Sunday challenge 'spring colours'

Crafty Catz challenge 'anything goes with optional twist of easter'

I've still got an evergrowing pile of NBUS but at least this is the first New Years Resolution I've been able to keep right into April..... and I'm having guilt free fun keeping it too! Thanks for popping by today and for all your lovely comments and encouragement.

Mousey Fun

Morning to you all on this lovely sunny morning and I hope it's as nice where you are. I've got a couple of House Mouse cards for you today and both feature decoupage sheets from the Joanna Sheen 'House Mouse decoupage' CD.

The challenge theme over at CD Sunday is 'any old iron' so I thought 'pumping iron' and just could not resist these little meecies in the gym running that wheel and getting themselves fit. The papers are LOTV and the pearl hearts are from the Hobby House.

Now after all that excercise what does any self respecting mouse think of ?.... food and drink of course. So what better than a big mug of hot cocoa overflowing with marshmallows. The papers are Dovecraft 'Princess Fairytale', the bow is my NBUS Joanna Sheen Signature die and I added a couple of pearls to finish it off.

This is for Allsorts challenge 'food, food, glorious food' and also House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge 'food and/or drink'

I know they should have been excercising after over-indulging but that would have been no fun now would it?

Thanks for popping by today

NBUS Trio with a Boo Boo

I've been using my NBUS (Never-Before-Used-Schtuff) crafty goodies for my trio of cards today so that I can go over and join in Darnell's fabulous NBUS and Boo Boo challenge. I must admit to making several online shopping trips in anticipation of the event !

I was very lucky to win a voucher from Uniko in their birthday challenge and was able to add some fabulous stamps to my stash and also in the last NBUS challenge I won a Mini Misti - so again a big thank you to Bev and Darnell as you both made this first card possible. I used my NBUS Uniko 'Paradise Hummingbird' stamp set along with the Mini Misti and Memento inks to stamp the image and used chalks for the background. I would never have been able to stamp all the different colours with an acetate block and I'm loving being able to try new stamping techniques. I was so pleased with the way this turned out but I just could not get a photo that shows how lovely the colours really look

I'm also entering this in

Uniko challenge 'spring with an optiona twist of easter'

Stamping Sensations challenge 'anything goes'

My next card is a snippets make so I shall head over and see what the Playmates are up to in Pixie's Snippets Playground. I used my NBUS Woodware 'snow' stamp for this along with some LOTV paper snippets, the last snippet of silver ribbon and silver mirri-card for matting and punched snowflakes. I managed to pick this stamp up half price on sale so pretty pleased about that.

And I made my final card today for the Time Out challenge where the theme is 'inspired by words'

When it rains look for rainbows, when it's dark look for stars

I was inspired by the rainbow part of this and using one of the stamps from the Uniko 'Background builders, round in circles' set I stamped rows of dots in rainbow colours. Then I went on to make a Boo Boo......  I used white embossing powder to stamp a sentiment from Penny Black 'Happy thoughts' stamp set (another NBUS) and of course it got completely 'lost' in the background. Determined not to be beaten I stamped the sentiment again on to a Marianne Design die-cut tag to hide the mess up and to finish I added an Impression Obsession cloud die (yet another NBUS)

and here's the boo boo

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. The sun is shining here and Hubby is getting restless so I think we'll be going out for a little stroll now.

Flowers and Butterflies

Hi everyone, hope you've all had a good week and ready for the weekend. Fingers crossed the nice weather we're having will last.

I've a couple of cards to show you today and the first uses some more of those large roses I'm trying to use up. The image is from a LOTV art pad, the dies are Tim Holtz stitched rectangles, patterned paper may be from The Hobby House (but not certain) and I added gold peel-off corners and sentiment and a butterfly to finish.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

In The Pink challenge 'flower power'

Deep Ocean challenge 'flowers everywhere'

And my second card uses a leftover paper which may be Hunkydory (but again not certain) with Marianne Design butterfly dies and a Tattered Lace happy birthday die. I added quite a lot of Stickles around the butterflies and it looks much better IRL than in the photo.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Butterfly challenge 'butterflies + R for repeat and/or the colour night sky'

Double D challenge 'things that fly'

Thanks for popping by today and if you hadn't already heard there's a NBUS / Boo Boo challenge starting tomorrow over at Darnell's blog.

Winter followed by Spring

Well I know the clocks went forward in the UK but it feels like mine went on a whole week instead of an hour..... that last week really zipped by in a flash and I'm still trying to catch up with it! But I'm finally here and have a couple of makes to show you today.

The first is winter and I've used all Tim Holtz goodies for this one. I recycled the back of a very thick shop bought card to make a tag and gesso'd through a TH mini stencil 'holiday script'. When that was dry I heat embossed the TH 'holiday joy' snowflakes stamps around the edge (taking Darnell's advice to wipe first with an antistatic cloth) and then used 3 different blue Memento inks to add colour. Using the same TH 'holiday joy' set (which I won some time ago in the Playground) I stamped the trees, stag and snowflakes and cut with the matching dies. I added a good helping of Stickles to the snowflakes and then finished it all off with a piece of lace tied with some baker's twine. Not my normal style but I'm rather pleased with the way it turned out.

and here are a couple more that have caught the light and show up the layers and sparkle a little better

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Country View challenge 'inspired by Tim Holtz'

Rudolph Days March challenge 'anything goes christmas'

Stamping Sensations challenge 'close to nature' my 2nd entry - I hope this fits the theme but if not please delete

Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'use more than one die or punch'

..... and following quickly on the heels of winter is spring (thanks goodness). Up until 1752 the first day of the new year here in England was 25th March (Lady Day) and to me it does feel more like a new year with the winter coming to an end and all the wonderful new growth and colours of the spring bulbs. I especially love the lilac and yellow crocuses, so they are the colours I picked to use with the wonderful Uniko 'beautiful blooms III' stamp. A very CAS card with a couple of lines embossed and a leftover sentiment from a decoupage sheet - this is definitely more my style. I was very lucky and won a voucher in Uniko's Birthday challenge so I have lots more fabulous stamps that I'll be able to show you next week when Darnell hosts her super NBUS challenge

I made this for the Uniko challenge 'spring with an optional theme of easter'

So that's it from me for now -  I'm off to take all the batteries out of the clocks as I reckon that's the only way I'll manage to have 24 hours in a day! Thanks for taking the time to call by today and I hope you all have a great week.

CAS and a CASE

Good morning to you all and I hope you're having a happy and healthy weekend.

I've another twosome for you today and the first is a snippets make and also a CASE. I used Spellbinders Impressabilities 'flowers' to stencil the background with blue ink (doen't really show up in the photo though) and then attached it to a kraft card base. I used my NBUS Memory Box 'breezy waves' die for the branches and hand cut the leaves. For the nesting boxes I used an Xcut hexagon die which I trimmed along two sides, added some strips for the roof and punched a hole before hanging them from the branches with a hand drawn string. Finally I added a sentiment which was a magazine freebie - not sure if it was me or the sentiment but it looks a bit blurred so I think I'll have to do a cover up job before it goes flying off anywhere!

I'm skipping over to see Miss Di and the playmates at Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge as this was made entirely from snippets.....

and I'm also heading over to Time Out challenge as this was a CASE of Jenny's fabulous card below

and finally to AAA Cards challenge CAS game #86 - Diecuts

For my second card I've gone with an adorable Penny Black stamp 'here comes christmas' coloured with my usual Promarkers, chalks for the sky and a dash of Stickles for the snow. I added a Uniko sentiment from the 'most wonderful' stamp set, then matted with some red mirricard and attached to the card blank.

I've made this for the following challenges

Stamping Sensations challenge 'close to nature'

Penny Black and More challenge 'anything goes' my 3rd entry

As You Like It challenge 'favourite stamp brand and why' my 3rd entry
It has to be Penny Black.... who could not fall in love with these little hedgies and they have so many images suitable for any occasion.

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'anything goes christmas with option no patterned paper'

So that's it from me for today. Thanks for popping by today and I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

More Flowers and a Mice Cuppa Tea

Hi everyone, I'm back with another couple of cards today and the first uses more of those large roses I'm trying to get rid of. The paper is Dovecraft 'princess fairytale' with some oddments of lace and ribbon added before attaching to the card blank. The sentiment is a Woodware stamp which I cut with a Tattered Lace nesting die and then matted on to some card that I cut cut with the next size die. The sprig die is Marianne Designs which I've had for eons and now finally given up on - no matter how much I've tried it just won't cut properly any more despite using quick release foam, trying to sharpen it with foil, using it in different machines, etc - so now it's finally in the bin. The butterfly is a Cheery Lynn die with a couple of pearls added and to finish I added some sparkle with Stickles.

I made this for Mrs A's Butterfly challenge where it's butterflies and E for edges and/or the colour mint green.

For my second card I printed one of the sheets from the Joanna Sheen House Mouse decoupage CD. The yellow striped paper is from another House Mouse CD, the green paper is a leftover from the card above and I added some ribbon and pearls to finish it off.

I made this for the following challenges

CD Sunday challenge 'enjoy tea / coffee'   and these little meecies are certainly doing that!

Deep Ocean challenge 'dots and/or stripes'

House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge 'let's have a party / anything goes option'

Thanks for popping by today and for taking the time to leave me a comment. I'm off now to pour myself a cuppa and put my feet up.
